This real estate agent is in NY. They have lied about conditions in the house, they have lied about telling the seller that things need to be done before closing, and they have yelled at me and insulted me saying that I am young and I ask too many questions. I have basically had to do everything myself and they treat me in a way that they would never treat anyone else of a older age. Who do I contact?

Tensions ran high at a basketball game in China on Friday, and things escalated rather quickly. An American team ? apparently called the New Orleans Hurricanes ? travled to the Jiaxing, Zhejiang province of China to take on a team called ? NESN.com ? Sports News ? Red?
A few days ago we hinted that there are new bundled Metro style apps coming in the upcoming Windows 8 Release Preview. It seems like the secrets are now out of the bag, with WinUnleaked posting a screenshot of the Live Tiles of the new apps coming in Windows 8 ? News, Sports, and Travel, all said to be powered by Bing. Check out on the right the un-watermarked screenshots of the Live Tiles for the three new apps, courtesy of WinSupersite.
According to Paul Thurrott from WinSupersite:
The three new Metro-style apps that Microsoft is providing in this release include News, Sports, and Travel? suffice to say that these new apps are nothing special. They look and work exactly like the Finance app, providing what are essentially beautiful frontends to RSS feeds from trusted sources.
And indeed, these new apps are quite beautiful, and greatly resembles the other Metro style apps from the Bing team such as Weather and Finance. WithinWindows managed to post some screenshots of the News app, showing just how beautiful it is:
According to WithinWindows, the News app features multiple sections, including Bing Daily (as shown above), My News, Trends, and Sources, which lets you pick between the many information sources used by the app. Unfortunately, this is no RSS app and won?t allow you to pick your own sources:
It?d be interesting to see what the other two apps look like, but rest assured that it?ll probably look just as good. Let?s hope their functionality could match its beauty.

There's a sexy new werewolf named Rikki in Bon Temps, but don?t hold your breath for a romance between her and the suddenly single Alcide on the new season of "True Blood."
?All I can say is that everybody knows Alcide (Joe Manganello) is holding a candle for Sookie (Anna Paquin),? Kelly Overton, who plays Rikki on the show this summer, told TODAY.com.
?And who is to say that he is even (Rikki?s) type? She definitely lives life a little more on the edge than he does. It is definitely going to take a unique sort of person/being to catch Rikki?s eye and actually keep her interest.?
Overton -- a former high-school track star and mother of a 1-year-old girl -- describes her character as ?tough and resourceful.?
?Rikki is pretty much the polar opposite of a damsel in distress,? she told TODAY.com.? ?You don?t want to be on her bad side, that is for sure!?
?When we meet Rikki, she is not in the best of moods. Her pack master has gone missing,??Overton explained. ?That is a pretty big deal in her world. She is pretty determined. She won?t let anyone or anything get in the way of finding out what happened to him."
Overton also noted that in the upcoming season, viewers will finally meet the Authority, the vampire council that rules over all bloodsuckers.
?We really kind of see the politics and the power struggle between the Authority?s agenda -- which is to drink Tru Blood and mainstream this society with humans.? You know, coexist.? We see that and the fundamentalist vampires, who are subscribing to beliefs that they are superior to humans. Humans are merely a food source,? she added.
?So this season is really different in that there is a lot of politically charged drama, which is something that always existed within the show, but until now they never really fully explored it and all the impact it will have on the characters. ... There is a lot of characters asking what side are they on.?
?True Blood? offers the biggest role yet for Overton, 34, whose career break came as an understudy to Alicia Silverstone in the Broadway revival of ?The Graduate.? ?It was working on that production that she met her husband, actor Judson Pearce Morgan, who was the understudy to lead actor Jason Biggs.
The pair first hooked up on opening night in April 2002 despite warnings from many other theater actors. ?In school (at New York?s American Academy of Dramatic Arts), the first thing they taught us was, 'Whatever you do, don?t get romantically involved with your scene partner.? It will affect your work,' ? she said.
The couple married in 2004, and Overton said her understanding hubby doesn?t seem to mind the nude scenes and sexy situations she encountered while filming ?True Blood.?
She doesn?t seem to mind taking it off for the camera either.
?(I am comfortable) because of the show and the place I am at in my life now,? Overton told us. ?Being a mom kind of grounded me in a way. Your body takes on a whole new meeting. And when I am older I can look back and say, ?Look at Grandma!??
Season five of "True Blood" kicks off June 10 at 9 p.m. on HBO.

Helmsley Charitable Trust grants $6.3 million to University of Louisville for neurosurgery Public release date: 24-May-2012 [ | E-mail | Share ]
Contact: Gary Mans gary.mans@louisville.edu 502-852-7504 University of Louisville
Grant moves UofL's 'Charting Our Course' campaign total past $600 million
LOUISVILLE, Ky. The University of Louisville has received $6.3 million from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust to support research in the Department of Neurological Surgery and the Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center at UofL developing the next generation of technology to help paralyzed people regain movement in their limbs and enhance their quality of life.
In May 2011, Susan Harkema, Ph.D., professor of neurological surgery, and Jonathan Hodes, M.D., chair of neurological surgery, and their colleagues published a study in "The Lancet" demonstrating that the use of continual direct electrical stimulation of a patient's lower spinal cord using "off the shelf" technology designed for pain relief can allow a person to go from being wheelchair-bound to being able to stand, remain standing and bear weight. Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech) collaborated on the study.
Since that time, the team has replicated its findings in at least two more patients, and the Helmsley Charitable Trust grant will help the team develop the technology needed to advance the research. Researchers from UofL, UCLA, Cal Tech and Case Western Reserve are involved in the development of the new technology.
"One of the biggest issues we face is the limitations imposed by the technology," Harkema said. "We need to develop the next generation of electrical stimulator containing the best possible circuitry and a new control system so that patients can have the ability to take advantage of this therapy at home and in their communities. Currently, it is limited to use in the laboratory here in Louisville."
"This most generous grant from the Helmsley Charitable Trust enables our researchers within the Department of Neurological Surgery and the Speed School of Engineering, and their colleagues at prestigious institutions across the country to move forward with the goal of improving the lives of millions of people," said UofL President James R. Ramsey. "This grant recognizes the innovative work taking place at UofL. Through this support and the work of our researchers and their subjects, we will continue to translate science into applications that transform people's lives."
"We're excited that this work has already proven what many thought was impossible: patients with absolutely no motor function can stand and step with assistance," said John Codey, trustee of the Helmsley Trust. "We hope the innovative work conducted by the faculty and staff of the University of Louisville and its partners continues to advance the technology and research base needed to treat more patients, resulting in improved outcomes."
In the paper from May, Harkema and her colleagues demonstrated that continual direct epidural electrical stimulation of the subject's lower spinal cord mimics signals the brain normally transmits to initiate movement. Once that signal is given, the research shows, the spinal cord's own neural network combined with the sensory input derived from the legs to the spinal cord is able to direct the muscle and joint movements required to stand and step with assistance on a treadmill.
The other crucial component of the potential therapy is an extensive regime of intensive physical therapy training called Locomotor Training while the spinal cord is being stimulated and the subject suspended over the treadmill. Assisted by rehabilitation specialists, an individual's spinal cord neural network is retrained to produce the muscle movements necessary to stand and to take assisted steps.
More than 5 million Americans live with some form of paralysis, defined as a central nervous system disorder resulting in difficulty or inability to move the upper or lower extremities. More than 1.275 million are spinal cord injured, and of those many are completely paralyzed in the lower extremities.
Relief from secondary complications of complete spinal cord injury including impairment or loss of bladder control, sphincter control and sexual response could prove to be even more significant.
Grant moves UofL campaign past $600 million
This grant has added significance for the University of Louisville, as it pushes past $600 million the amount raised during the Charting Our Course comprehensive campaign, which has a goal of $1 billion by 2014.
"The support we have received from throughout the country has been extraordinary," said Keith Inman, vice president for university advancement at UofL. "People understand that UofL is working to transform people's lives, whether it be through innovative educational programs and opportunities, dynamic research that improves the health and well-being of citizens, or a professionally nurturing work environment."
"The University of Louisville's mission is to become a nationally recognized metropolitan research university that changes people's lives," Ramsey said. "To accomplish this goal, we must have the resources to attract and retain the best and brightest students, faculty and staff. Individuals and organizations throughout the country believe in what we are doing here at UofL and demonstrate their commitment to our excellence. We cannot thank each and every one enough."

Columnist Eleonore af Schaumburg-Lippe has watched and reviewed the movie ?The Dictator?, which opens in Bucharest cinemas starting this week. The motto of the movie is ?Finally suppressed?.
By Eleonore af Schaumburg-Lippe
?The Dictator? is a satire that sometimes nails it right on the nose and sometimes goes just too low. However, for anyone who doesn?t get easily offended and wants to get a good dose of laughing, it?s a must see.
Before watching the movie the Dictator, starring the actor Sacha Baron Cohen, my hopes were high. I must admit I can still burst into laughter just thinking about his first movies ?Ali G? and ?Borat?, which I have seen more than once.
I am a fan of Sacha Baron Cohen, I admit that too, and I do like his humor and satire, even though I?m aware that many people don?t and do not find either his characters or movies amusing or funny at all.
After watching ?The Dictator? for the first time, I went to the cinema the day after to see the movie again. I wouldn?t recommend it. The movie is really funny to watch the first time but the second time it only occasionally raises a smile.
The way the audience responded each time is a good guide to likely responses to the film: either you love it or you hate it. When I saw the movie the first time, the audience seemed to really enjoy it, and everybody was laughing out loud, walking out of the cinema with big smiles on their faces. The second time I saw it, the audience almost all watched the movie in complete silence, and only one person laughed occasionally. He was sitting near me and was obviously getting on his girlfriend?s nerves, who was not laughing at all.
The story itself is not what carries this movie, so I might as well share it. It is sort of a simple story about Sacha Baron Cohen?s dictator Aladeen, who runs the fictitious North African state Wadiya. The Dictator Aladeen has it all, a desert palace the size of a Las Vegas hotel, an army of Turquoise Lamborghinis, female bodyguards to see to all his needs, gold covered SUVs. Wadiya?s dictator has a penchant for cuddling and pays stars such as Oprah Winfrey and Arnold Schwarzenegger to share his bed. Megan Fox complains that Katy Perry got a better watch and is unwilling to take on her cuddling duties.
The dictator ends up in America, because the UN wants to call for a meeting to find out more about his nuclear weapons plans. In America he is betrayed by his brother Tamir, played by Ben Kingsley, who organizes for Aladeen to be kidnapped, and replaces him with a double.
The real Aladeen survives ? without his dictator beard ? and has to find a way to get back into power and prevent his brother Tamir turning Wadiya into a democracy. To get access to the meeting, where the papers are to be signed, Aberdeen gets a job in a vegan ecological shop that will cater for the signing, and encounters the shop owner Zoey- played by Anna Faris. He suddenly develops feelings of not wanting to execute her, which, he is told, must mean that he has fallen in love.
Sacha Baron Cohen steps over all political boundaries. Almost everything politically sensitive is joked about. There are jokes about September 11, race jokes, rape jokes, feminist jokes.?Sacha Baron Cohen doesn?t just step into areas that offend, he positively jumps into them.
During the movie the really heavy satire is in the scene where Aladeen delivers a speech to the UN, where he talks about all the wonderful aspects of a dictatorship by giving examples of US policy.
Not all the punch lines are spot on, but many are, and with a movie like this there will always be comments from both sides, as reactions depend on individual sense of humor. Some will find it hilariously funny and some will hate it.
For me, it is the funniest movie so far this year.
Looks like rumors of major cost-cutting measures at HP are true: the company along with its fiscal Q2 results has just outlined plans to slash 27,000 jobs by the end of its fiscal 2014. The drop, or about eight percent of its workforce, is being offered an "early retirement" if it doesn't want to wait to be let go involuntarily. The move is intended to streamline HP's operations and save between $3 billion to $3.5 billion a year by the time the cuts are done. As for the results themselves, they explain all too clearly why the cuts are inbound: HP 's profit dropped a massive 31 percent to $1.6 billion, and its revenue dropped three points to $30.7 billion. CEO Meg Whitman touted the results as exceeding an earlier glum outlook, but with the enterprise, printer and services groups all dragging the company down, it's clear that HP is in the same boat as a struggling Dell.
We?re moving from a philosophy of ?security knows best to security needs to know better about the business before it can know what to do,? said John Pironti (@jpironti), President of IP Architects, LLC.
Pironti knows best about this subject as he curated the risk management track at Interop in Las Vegas this year. In between sessions I spoke with Pironti as to what has changed over the past year with regard to risk management.
Pironti stressed the need for a data focused approach. You can?t be everywhere, doing everything, but if you can understand what could happen, why, and when, and apply metrics to it, then you can take logical approaches to understanding business impact.
Security used to get by just knowing threats. That?s not enough anymore, explained Pironti. You have to know threats, risks, the viability of them happening, and then their impacts to the business.
?If this situation was going to happen, what would it mean,? asked Pironti. How would it actually affect the business? Once you have that knowledge, and specifically data to back it up, you can build security models based on that. It?s a more symbiotic relationship that the business can embrace, not run away from.

Study found some cope through physical, emotional distance as sadness becomes too much.
(HealthDay) -- Some cancer doctors may build up emotional walls -- distancing themselves from the patients they can't save -- to avoid grief, sadness and even despair, new research shows.
In a profession where death and dying "are part and parcel of the work," study author Leeat Granek said grieving is mixed with "feelings of self-doubt, failure and powerlessness that come from the idea that doctors are responsible for their patients' lives and for making their treatment decisions."
Twenty oncologists at three adult cancer centers in Ontario described how they dealt -- or didn't deal -- with grief, and its effect on their professional practice and personal lives. The report was published online May 21 in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
"The issue with doing oncology is that you walk a very fine line," one doctor said. "If you get too involved with your patients you can't function because it's too much emotional load to bear, and if you get too distant from your patients then I don't think you're being a very good physician, because people pick up on that."
"Sometimes the grief comes home with the oncologist," said Granek, a postdoctoral fellow at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Although some doctors "compartmentalized" in order to function, others had difficulty sleeping or enjoying time with their family.
But there were positive reactions, too. Some physicians found they had a better perspective on life from frequent exposure to patient loss. And some felt motivated to give better care.
The study referred to the physician's burden of "holding hard knowledge."
"Sometimes I'll take a chart and I'll look at the imaging, and everything's worse and the numbers are worse," a doctor said, "and I have to drag myself into the patient's room and figure out what can I offer them that's hopeful and positive. It's tough."
Several oncologists said they cried on the way home in their cars. But feelings were kept private or submerged.
"Losing any patient is difficult," said Dr. Len Lichtenfeld, deputy chief medical officer at the American Cancer Society. "But there is no time to grieve. You have a moment or two to reflect and then you're on to the next patient who needs your help."
Granek said that "even just acknowledging that grief over patient loss exists and that it's part of the profession would be healthier than what is happening now. There is no acknowledgement at all, and there's denial."
Other patients might be affected in the aftermath of a loss, some respondents suggested.
"Maybe I got that case after someone had just died and I was in a more aggressive mode," one physician said. "Or, maybe I undertreated someone because I just saw a patient with terrible toxicity."
Doctors talked about being distracted, less focused. When patients were dying, some physically distanced themselves, avoiding the hospital and bedside.
Patients and family members can sense this distance. Lichtenfeld told of a bereaved husband who confided in him after his wife had died of breast cancer.
Caring professionals "would spend time with him, talk to him, look at him, hold his hand, ask how he was feeling," Lichtenfeld said. But others "would not engage in those behaviors -- they would look the other way, they would not look him in the eye, they would rely on 'the data, the data, the data,'" in conversations.
"If you're troubled about the way the physician or members of that team are relating to you," Lichtenfeld recommended "bringing it up as part of the conversation."
An accompanying journal commentary described how one institution is dealing with the situation. Since 2008, the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, N.Y. has held staff support meetings -- mandatory for oncology fellows -- where practitioners are encouraged to discuss their experiences with patient loss and grief.
"Feelings of frustration, anger, loss, isolation and insecurity often emerge in a setting that is nonjudgmental and supportive," wrote oncologists Dr. Michelle Shayne and Dr. Timothy Quill. "At the end of each one-hour session, a moment of silence is observed in remembrance of patients who have recently died, and the opportunity to remember and honor a patient who has died by saying his or her first name is offered."
Oncologists "are working very hard and doing this phenomenal job with very large numbers of patients," Granek said, "and they could use a little bit of support with this piece."

Major U.S. Cable Companies Join Forces on WiFi Bright House Networks, Cablevision, Comcast, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable Will Share Access to over 50,000 Hotspots, Expand WiFi Availability and Simplify Access for their High Speed Internet Customers
BOSTON, May 21, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Bright House Networks, Cablevision, Comcast, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable today announce that they will enable each other's high-speed Internet customers to access their metro WiFi networks, totaling over 50,000 hotspots. To simplify access, a new network name, "CableWiFi", has been created for subscribers to use when accessing the WiFi hotspots outside their home market. The first implementation is already complete as Bright House Networks and Cablevision launched "CableWiFi" alongside their branded WiFi networks in the New York City area and central Florida earlier this month. Over the next few months, the "CableWiFi" network name will be added by each of the cable companies to their branded WiFi hotspots.
"This effort adds great value to our high speed Internet customers by providing free wireless Internet access on all of their WiFi enabled devices in our markets and additional areas across the country," said Nomi Bergman, President of Bright House Networks.
"We believe that WiFi is a superior approach to mobile data, and that cable providers are best positioned to build the highest-capacity national network offering customers fast and reliable Internet connections when away from their home or business broadband service," said Kristin Dolan, Cablevision's senior executive vice president of product management and marketing. "We've built an extensive WiFi network in our own service area, and see real value and potential in other leading providers joining with us to extend that connectivity to major markets across the country."
Dave Watson, Chief Operating Officer of Comcast Cable added, "Mobility is an increasingly important part of our Xfinity services product roadmap. WiFi technology, coupled with our agreements with Verizon Wireless, are two significant ways we are executing on our strategy to deliver the best in- and out-of-home communications experience for our customers."
"The way customers are using our service continues to evolve," said Jill Campbell, Cox Communications COO. "This is a new area of opportunity that we need to explore."
"We have long been the leading providers of high-speed internet services in our customers' homes. Through our rollout of WiFi and the benefits of this collaboration we greatly increase the value and reach of our high-speed internet service, providing access to broadband outside the home and in cities across the country," said Rob Marcus, President and COO of Time Warner Cable.
When traveling outside their home markets, high-speed Internet subscribers of the participating companies will look for the "CableWiFi" network and through a simple sign-on process connect using the same credentials as when accessing their providers' WiFi networks. In the coming months, users will be able to have their devices auto-connect to the Internet when located in any of the "Cable WiFi" hotspots.
The participating cable operators currently offer more than 50,000 WiFi hotspots located in New York City and the surrounding Tri-State area, Los Angeles, Tampa, Orlando, and Philadelphia. The operators plan to continue to grow the number of WiFi hotspots and expand into several additional cities. The network has both indoor and outdoor WiFi hotspots located in popular, high traffic locations, such as shopping districts, cafes, malls, arenas, restaurants, parks and beaches. Subscribers will be able to find the nearest WiFi hotspots by visiting the WiFi homepage of their current cable provider or going to www.cablewifi.com .
This is the largest and most inclusive WiFi sharing effort among cable operators to date. In early 2010, Cablevision, Comcast and Time Warner Cable entered into an agreement allowing their customers in New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Connecticut to access WiFi hotspots offered by each operator in these areas.
